آسان تشریح

جب میرے پاس کوئی اور نہیں ہوتا تو گویا تم میرے پاس ہوتے ہو۔ تنہائی میں عاشق کا دھیان پوری طرح محبوب کی طرف ہوتا ہے، اس لیے غیر حاضر محبوب حاضر محسوس ہوتا ہے۔ ایک مفہوم یہ بھی ہے کہ جب دل میں کوئی دوسرا نہ ہو تو وہاں تم ہی ہوتے ہو۔ یہ شعر کم اور سادہ الفاظ میں گہری بات کہنے کی مثال ہے۔

In plain English

When no one else is with me, it is as if you are with me. In solitude the lover's mind turns wholly to the beloved, so the absent one feels present. A second reading is also loved: when nobody else is in my heart, you are there. The couplet is famous for saying so much with so few, simple words.
