عشق کا ڈنک گوارا ہونے کے لیے ایک عمر چاہیے۔ آج، نئے نئے عاشق کو زخمِ جگر کی لذت کہاں نصیب۔ حالی کہتے ہیں کہ عشق کی گہری لذتیں، ہر مشکل ریاضت کی طرح، وقت اور صبر کے بعد ہی ملتی ہیں۔

یہ شعر الطاف حسین حالی کا ہے، ان کی غزل «ہے جستجو کہ خوب سے ہے خوب تر کہاں» سے، دیوانِ حالی (1922)، ص 87۔This couplet is by Altaf Hussain Hali, from the ghazal “hai justujoo ke khoob se hai khoob-tar kahaan”, Diwan-e-Hali (qitas, ghazals, qasidas, marsiyas, rubais) (1922), p. 87.
