مدعاmudda'aaمطلب، بات کا مقصد (the point, the intent)
In plain English
You say that if you find my heart lying somewhere, you will not give it back. But where is my heart for you to lose or find? I have understood your real intent: you already have it. The lover sees through the beloved's playful words.

زیستzeestزندگی (life)
دردِ بے دواdard-e-be-dawaایسا درد جس کا علاج نہ ہو (a pain with no cure)
In plain English
Through love my nature found the taste of life. Love cured my old pains, but it gave me a new pain that has no cure. Love is both the medicine and the incurable illness.

دوست دارِ دشمنdost-daar-e-dushmanدشمن کا دوست (a friend of the enemy)
نارساnaa-rasaaجو منزل تک نہ پہنچے (failing to reach its goal)
In plain English
My heart has become a friend of my enemy; so much for trusting it. My sighs had no effect and my cries never reached the beloved. Even one's own heart and voice can fail in love.

In plain English
Innocence with cunning, self-forgetfulness with alertness: I found beauty testing the lover's courage even while pretending not to notice him. The beloved's indifference is itself a clever game.

ghuncha phir laga khilne, aaj hum ne apna dilkhoon kiya hua dekha, gum kiya hua paaya
غنچہghunchaکلی (a bud)
In plain English
The bud has begun to open again, and today I found my heart bleeding and lost. Spring returns, but the lover's heart, like a bud torn open, is wounded. The opening of a red bud is compared to a bleeding heart.

haal-e-dil nahin maaloom lekin is qadar yaanihum ne baar-ha dhoonda, tum ne baar-ha paaya
حالِ دلhaal-e-dilدل کا حال (the state of the heart)
بارہاbaar-haبار بار (again and again)
In plain English
I do not know the state of my heart; I only know this much: I searched for it again and again, and you found it again and again. The heart keeps slipping away from the lover and into the beloved's hands.

شورshorشور؛ نمکینی (noise; also saltiness)
In plain English
The noisy advice of the preacher was like salt sprinkled on my wound. Someone should ask him what pleasure he got out of it. 'Shor' means both noise and saltiness, so the advice literally salts the wound.
