This ghazal is by Mirza Ghalib, from Divan-e-Ghalib (Urdu), the Berlin edition (1925), p. 4, 5.
shauq har rang raqeeb-e-sar-o-saamaan niklaQais tasveer ke parde mein bhi uryaan nikla
رقیبِ سر و ساماںraqeeb-e-sar-o-saamaanسامان اور آرام کا دشمن (the enemy of possessions and comfort)
(Qais, the real name of Majnun)
In plain English
Passion, in every form, turns out to be the enemy of possessions. Even when Majnun is painted in a picture, he appears without clothes. A true lover gives up everything, and even an image of him shows that.

داد نہ دیdaad na diتعریف کرنا، انصاف کرنا (to praise; to give justice)
تنگیِ دلtangi-e-dilدل کی گھٹن (the narrowness, anguish of the heart)
In plain English
O Lord, even the wound did not do justice to how cramped my heart was. The arrow too flew out of the wounded chest flapping its feathers, as if escaping a tight place. The heart is so full of grief that there is no room even for an arrow.

boo-e-gul, naala-e-dil, dood-e-charaagh-e-mehfiljo teri bazm se nikla so pareshaan nikla

دودِ چراغdood-e-charaaghچراغ کا دھواں (the smoke of a lamp)
In plain English
The scent of the rose, the cry of the heart, the smoke of the lamp: whatever left your gathering left scattered. 'Pareshaan' means both scattered and troubled. Scent and smoke spread out as they leave, and the lover who leaves your company is left in distress.

مائدۂmaaidaدستر خوان (a banquet table)
لذتِ دردlazzat-e-dardدرد کا مزہ (the taste of pain)
بہ قدرِ لب و دنداںba-qadr-e-lab-o-dandaanہونٹوں اور دانتوں کی گنجائش کے مطابق (as much as one's lips and teeth could take)
In plain English
My longing heart was a whole banquet of the pleasure of pain. Each friend took only as much as their lips and teeth could manage. Everyone tasted love's pain according to their own capacity; no one could take all of it.

In plain English
My courage, which loves hard tasks, was new to dying. The real difficulty is that even this task turned out to be easy. For a spirit that wants challenges, an easy death is itself a disappointment.

قطرہqatraبوند (a drop)
طوفاںtoofaanطوفان (a storm, flood)
In plain English
Ghalib, weeping has again raised a tumult in my heart. The tear that I held back as a single drop has now burst out as a storm. Grief that is held in grows until it overflows.
