یہ شعر مرزا غالب کا ہے، ان کی غزل «پھر مجھے دیدۂ تر یاد آیا» سے، دیوانِ غالب (اردو)، نسخۂ برلن (1925)، ص 34۔This couplet is by Mirza Ghalib, from the ghazal “phir mujhe deeda-e-tar yaad aaya”, Divan-e-Ghalib (Urdu), the Berlin edition (1925), p. 34. It means: Life would have passed somehow anyway. Why did I have to remember the street where you walk? Memory of the beloved made an ordinary life restless.
