آسان تشریح
شاعر شکایت کرتا ہے کہ میں نے جدائی کے بہت دکھ اٹھائے ہیں۔ ہمدردی کے بجائے محبوب جواب دیتا ہے کہ پھر تو تمہارا دل بہت مضبوط ہے! لطف یہ ہے کہ شکایت کو تعریف میں بدل دیا گیا اور عاشق کو تسلی کا ایک لفظ بھی نہ ملا۔
In plain English
The poet complains that he has suffered a great deal in separation. Instead of sympathy, the beloved replies, “Then you must have a very strong heart!” The humour lies in turning his complaint into a compliment, so that he gets no comfort at all.
یہ شعر داغ دہلوی کا ہے، ان کی غزل «لے چلا جان مری روٹھ کے جانا تیرا» سے، مہتابِ داغ (1893)، ص 14۔This couplet is by Dagh Dehlvi, from the ghazal “le chalaa jaan meri rooth ke jaanaa tera”, Mahtab-e-Dagh (Dagh’s third diwan) (1893), p. 14.
