بچہ دعا کرتا ہے کہ میرے وجود سے میرے وطن کی رونق اسی طرح بڑھے جیسے پھول سے باغ کی خوبصورتی بڑھتی ہے۔ یعنی اچھا شہری اپنے ملک کے لیے ویسا ہی ہے جیسا باغ کے لیے پھول۔

یہ شعر علامہ محمد اقبال کا ہے، ان کی نظم «بچے کی دعا» سے، بانگ درا (اشاعت دوم) (1926)، ص 19۔This couplet is by Allama Muhammad Iqbal, from the nazm “bachche ki duaa”, Bang-e-Dra (second printing) (1926), p. 19. It means: The child wishes to bring honour and beauty to its homeland, just as a flower is what makes a garden beautiful. A good citizen is compared to a flower that adorns the whole garden.
