ہم نے دنیا کے سارے باغ کی سیر کر لی، دوستی کے پھول میں عجیب رنگ اور خوشبو ہے۔ یعنی زندگی کی سب نعمتوں میں دوستی سب سے خوبصورت ہے۔

یہ شعر خواجہ میر درد کا ہے، ان کی غزل «میرا جی ہے جب تک تری جستجو ہے» سے، دیوانِ میر درد (1922)، ص 49۔This couplet is by Khwaja Mir Dard, from the ghazal “mera ji hai jab tak tiri justuju hai”, Diwan-e-Mir Dard (1922), p. 49. It means: I have walked through the whole garden of the world, and the flower of friendship has the most wonderful colour and fragrance of all. Of everything life offers, friendship is the finest.
